For The Kids!

The Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon (THONTM) is the largest student-run philanthropy in the world. THONTM is a year round fundraising event benefiting The Four Diamonds Fund, Conquering Childhood Cancer, at the Penn State Children's Hospital in Hershey, PA. The year culminates in a no-sitting, no-sleeping, two day dance marathon held every February. Over the past 35 years, the students of THONTM have raised more than $46 million and have helped thousands of children and families fight pediatric cancer.

During THONTM weekend, 700 dancers and thousands of supporters come together in the hopes of one day finding a cure for pediatric cancer. Whether standing for two days as a dancer, entertaining the crowd, taking care of the facility, or even standing in the bleachers, every person at THONTM plays a small part in creating an amazing atmosphere of love, compassion, and understanding. This atmosphere inspires the students to fundraise throughout the year and tells the families of The Four Diamonds Fund that they have the care and support they need.  This collective effort, involving more than 15,000 students, has become one of Penn State's greatest and most unifying traditions.  For more information, please visit www.thon.org.

The mission of The Four Diamonds Fund is to ensure that every child being treated at Penn State Children’s Hospital at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center receives complete medical, emotional, and financial support. In addition, the Fund supports vital research at Penn State College of Medicine into the causes, treatments, and cures of childhood cancer. The Dance Marathon Alumni Interest Group (DMAIG) is a Penn State University sponsored Alumni Interest Group designed to bring THONTM alumni together and keep them connected to one of Penn State’s most beloved traditions.  DMAIG promises to promote a continuing relationship between students and alumni who care about THONTM by providing opportunities for alumni to give time, money and resources to aid in the conquering of childhood cancer.
